Project Overview

Jump IN for Healthy Kids seeks support in translating 13 documents that have been designed in Adobe Creative Suite and in Venngage into Canva for future updating and use. Most of the documents are single paged though some are a few pages. These have been created by different designers at different times but are not currently in a format that we can edit. We are in a position where we would like to be able to make updates and edits to these designs ourselves but don’t have the expertise to redesign them in Canva, where we are able to edit and change.

We realize the designs may not be exactly the same in Canva as they were in their original form, but being able to utilize a skilled volunteer designer ensures that we will get close. Jump IN owns these designs and has the rights to modify and update them.

Jump IN for Healthy Kids was created to reduce the high prevalence of child overweight and obesity in central Indiana, an area facing profound health disparities and economic disadvantages. Jump IN focuses on:
1) changing the policies, practices, and environments in schools, childcare facilities, and other places that influence the health behaviors of children and families
2) addressing barriers to healthy food access and active living; and
3) improving the overall culture of health in the community through public awareness and engagement.

Obesity is a global pandemic, the World Health Organization’s #2 threat to global health in 2019. Research consistently demonstrates that greater comprehensiveness, dose, and reach across policy, systems, and environments in multiple sectors at organizational, local, and state levels are associated with reduced childhood obesity prevalence in community-wide populations.

Jump IN is a team of three. While we are fortunate to secure public health funding to support our systems-level work, we do not have the capacity to engage enough design support to continually redesign our communications materials and keep them up to date, so we rely on our tiny team to find workarounds to keep our materials relevant. You can help Jump IN achieve a level of autonomy, save money, and have higher-quality, consistent branding that we can manage ourselves. You would be equipping us to communicate effectively with the tools we have!

This project is turnkey. We have assembled the documents we would like to recreate in Canva and are ready to share them at any time. We also have purchased a Canva license that we can access and fully use. These documents come from different aspects of our work and will be used according to their needs. Our primary need is the ability to update and edit these fixed designs. One of our team members, our communications director, has been trained in Canva and is prepared to make necessary updates as needed to the documents once we have them in an editable format in Canva.
