Project Overview
We are a small nonprofit using a software called Aplos (similar to QuickBooks). We are looking for some guidance in setting up things like a Chart of Accounts, Funds, and how to classify expenses/donations. Right now, only a few things are correct and a lot needs to be corrected. We can do the labor but need proper guidance and we are looking for someone with experience in working with nonprofit accounting. We are a nonprofit that supports abused and neglected children as well as children in foster care. Our finances are simple for the most part but our accounting practices need some major work. We lack the knowledge for things like setting up our Chart of Accounts, Funds, and other classifications. As mentioned, we can do the labor but need proper guidance in implementing things properlyWe have APLOS set up already. It is online and can be used from anywhere so there are no software downloads. All past transactions have been imported but are not classified properly with a correct Chart of Accounts, Funds, and other classifications. We need guidance on properly classifying these things. We can do the labor to correct past transactions and would need guidance in moving forward.
Nonprofit Overview
The Blue Ribbon Project is designed to be a community outreach in both the prevention of Child Abuse and a support network for abused and neglected children. At the Blue Ribbon Project, we understand that victims of child abuse carry a burden throughout their lives and the effects of abuse last a lifetime. That’s why we offer a variety of functional outreach programs that directly serve abused and neglected children in our community, youth in foster care, as well as adult survivors of abuse and neglect. Through our dedication to these children, we remain committed to achieving our vision of raising awareness around child abuse in our communities and acting as advocates for those affected by child abuse and neglect. The Blue Ribbon Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and our staff is 100% volunteer.
