Project Overview

.
HELP US RECRUIT A VOLUNTEER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR !

We seek a volunteer HR professional to help us craft and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan for a senior manager to lead our little organization into our next stage of development. Project tasks will include:
* Meeting with our board consultant and reviewing brief materials provided to gain familiarity with our mission, accomplishments, and needs.
* Conducting interviews with co-founder/board chairman and other board members for greater insights into our successes and challenges.
* Development of first draft of recruitment plan that includes clear tactics for reaching and vetting qualified candidates and onboarding our new Executive Director.
* Finalizing the recruitment plan by incorporating feedback from the board.
* Consulting with our board consultant as we put the plan into action. Providing guidance on implementation leading to fruition.

WHO WE ARE and WHY WE NEED YOU

We are a tiny, growing, 501c3, established in 2002, with an all-volunteer staff of about a dozen, serving a highly stigmatized population. We work to improve the availability of quality, elective mental health care for people who are attracted to children or adolescents (called "minor-attracted persons" or "MAPs"). Our budget has always been under $10k per year, but our activities have attracted a pledge of $35k per year with the initial donation received. We want to apply these new resources prudently to grow the organization and its activities. The members of our small board are smart and dedicated, but not really savvy about how to structure, run, and grow an organization. We’ve been flying by the seat of our pants and it's time for us to have professional management. We'd like to find a retired CEO or executive director of a successful nonprofit who would now like to take on the challenge of growing an organization doing very controversial and very important work.

To make that happen, we would like the assistance of a skilled HR professional to help us develop a winning recruitment strategy.

OUR PREPARATION FOR THE PROJECT and PLANS FOR IMPLEMENTATION

Our board consultant (who is a volunteer, a retired entrepreneur) will lead the project and work with you (the HR volunteer). The board has approved this project and is eager to assist. We'll provide you with relevant information about our stakeholders and a background briefing on our mission, programs, accomplishments, and challenges, as well as any additional materials you request.

We will go into action upon completion of the plan. We will continue to work with you to ensure that the plan is implemented effectively and carried out to success.
