Project Title:
Build and Grow a YouTube Channel for Living Stone Global’s Mission

Project Description:
Living Stone Global is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to Loving Like Jesus through education, compassionate crisis intervention, and biblical discipleship to a community of 15,000 people who live around the dumpsite in Nakuru, Kenya.

At the heart of our mission is Maisha Mapya Learning Center, which serves 400 students from preschool to grade 9 across two campuses with a dedicated team of 35 staff members. Our work touches the lives of children, families, and the broader community, providing opportunities for transformation through Christ.

Our founder, Dave Hatfield, wrote the deeply inspiring book, I Am Not A Grasshopper, which tells the story of the power of God’s love and forgiveness to bring peace between two gangs who were in the middle of a war. This story, and others like it, reflect the heart of our mission—to bring hope, transformation, and reconciliation to individuals and communities.

We recently launched our YouTube channel, Living Stone Global with Dave Hatfield, to share impactful stories from Kenya and inspire Christians to engage with our mission. To amplify our reach, we’ve started the Maisha Media Club, a collaborative initiative with ministry leadership, students, staff, and the community to tell their stories. We’ve also launched Word Wednesday, where the world’s cutest kids teach the audience a new Swahili word every week, making cultural connections fun and engaging. Additionally, our Bible Memory Verses segment features inspiring scripture recitations by children, offering content that individuals and church Sunday schools can use to grow in faith and encourage discipleship.

Why YouTube?
YouTube is an important platform for Living Stone Global because of its incredible reach and its ability to connect visually and emotionally with audiences worldwide. Our story and the story of the community we serve are essential for fostering hope for both believers and nonbelievers. Through our powerful visuals and heartfelt narratives, we aim to challenge perceptions, inspire action, and showcase God’s transformative work in a way that surprises and inspires viewers across the globe.

As a Google-approved nonprofit, we have access to tools like YouTube for Nonprofits, which enhances our ability to connect with a global audience. These tools include donation links, advanced audience engagement features, and other powerful resources to increase our reach and impact. We’re looking for volunteers to help us maximize these resources and leverage YouTube’s platform to its fullest potential.

We currently have 650 people on our email list, 335 members in a private Facebook group, and 250 financial donors, with an annual operating budget of approximately $500,000. Through YouTube, we aim to strategically grow our audience to 3,000 Christians, inspiring greater engagement, prayer, and support for our mission.

We aim to leverage the platform to:

Share powerful stories from our ministry in Kenya.
Teach biblical principles and foster discipleship through video content.
Inspire viewers to support our mission through prayer, sharing, and giving.
Empower the children to embrace their stories and learn how to effectively share them.
Give a voice to the voiceless who live in extreme poverty.
Showcase initiatives like the Maisha Media Club, Word Wednesday, and Bible Memory Verses to engage and inspire a global audience.
Key Project Goals:

Channel Culture: Define and create a welcoming, faith-centered culture that encourages community and engagement.
Graphics and Branding: Design visually compelling graphics, thumbnails, and channel banners that align with our mission.
Content Schedule: Develop a sustainable and consistent content schedule that includes storytelling, cultural highlights, and discipleship materials.
Content Strategy: Create a cohesive plan to align content with audience interests and mission goals.
Audience Growth: Implement strategies to grow a YouTube audience of 3,000 engaged Christians.
Project Management Integration: Use Monday.com for organizing the project and ensuring seamless communication and task tracking.

Expected Outcomes:

How You Can Help:
We’re looking for volunteers with experience in YouTube strategy, graphic design, and project management who can collaborate with us to create a professional and impactful channel. Your expertise will help us connect with believers and nonbelievers alike, fostering hope and expanding our reach to advance God’s mission.

We use Monday.com to manage our projects and communication, ensuring that all team members can collaborate effectively and stay aligned on goals and deadlines.

Together, we can shine God’s light across the globe. Will you join us?
This project directly supports Living Stone Global’s mission to Love Like Jesus through education, compassionate crisis intervention, and biblical discipleship in a community of 15,000 people living around the dumpsite in Nakuru, Kenya. By building a robust and engaging YouTube channel, we aim to amplify our reach, share the stories of transformation happening within our community, and inspire others to join our mission of hope and reconciliation.

Here’s how the project will contribute to our mission:

1. Amplifying Our Impact
Through the Living Stone Global with Dave Hatfield YouTube channel, we will share powerful stories of life-changing transformation, such as children like Nancy who have found hope and a future through Maisha Mapya Learning Center. These narratives will convict, inspire, and challenge audiences around the world to reflect on God’s work and engage with our mission.
2. Promoting Biblical Discipleship
Content such as Bible Memory Verses, Word Wednesday, and discipleship teachings from Mr. Hatfield will encourage spiritual growth for viewers, both locally and globally. These videos can serve as resources for churches, individuals, and families, reinforcing the importance of faith and God’s transformative power.
3. Empowering Our Community
Initiatives like the Maisha Media Club empower children and community members to embrace their own stories and develop their voice. This aligns with our mission to not only provide opportunities but also to instill dignity and confidence in those we serve.
4. Mobilizing Global Support
The YouTube channel will create opportunities for individuals, churches, and organizations worldwide to engage with our work. By using platforms like YouTube for Nonprofits and the Google Ad Grant, we will reach a broader audience, encouraging financial support, prayer, and advocacy for our community. This increased engagement will provide critical resources to continue and expand our work in Nakuru, Kenya.
5. Fostering Hope for Believers and Nonbelievers
The stories shared through this project are essential for fostering hope among both believers and nonbelievers, showing how God’s love can transform lives, heal divisions, and provide a path out of despair. These messages align perfectly with our mission of bringing light to the darkest corners of the world.
By inspiring action, equipping individuals with discipleship tools, and creating a deeper connection between our community and a global audience, this project will ensure that the mission of Living Stone Global continues to grow and thrive for years to come.
To set this project up for success, we will combine thoughtful planning, proven tools, and a collaborative team approach to ensure the project achieves its goals. Here’s how we will do it:

1. Clear Vision and Goals
We have a clear vision for this project: to create a mission-aligned YouTube channel that grows an engaged audience of 3,000 Christians and inspires action through storytelling, discipleship, and cultural engagement.
Specific goals include developing a sustainable content schedule, creating visually compelling branding, and maximizing the use of YouTube for Nonprofits tools.
2. Leverage Existing Strengths
Mission Foundation: Living Stone Global is deeply rooted in its mission to serve a community of 15,000 people in Nakuru, Kenya, with strong programs like Maisha Mapya Learning Center. These initiatives provide rich, authentic stories to share.
Existing Resources: We will build on our current platform with 650 email subscribers, 335 Facebook group members, and 250 financial donors to jumpstart engagement.
3. Access to Proven Tools
As a Google-approved nonprofit, we have access to powerful resources, including YouTube for Nonprofits and a Google Ad Grant budget.

While we have access to this ad budget, we lack the experience to fully utilize it. We need assistance in creating effective ad campaigns to amplify our reach, drive traffic to our YouTube channel, and engage the right audience.

We will also use Monday.com for project management, enabling seamless communication, clear task delegation, and milestone tracking.

4. Experienced Leadership and Dedicated Team
The project will benefit from the leadership of our founder, Dave Hatfield, whose inspiring book, I Am Not A Grasshopper, highlights his deep understanding of storytelling and reconciliation. His insights will guide the channel’s tone and content.
In addition to Mr. Hatfield’s involvement, we will hire two full-time staff members to support this initiative:
Media and Marketing Staff 1: Focused on administrative tasks and ensuring data integrity, helping to manage the backend processes needed for smooth operations.
Media and Marketing Staff 2: Concentrated on content creation, working closely with Mr. Hatfield to produce compelling videos, maintain a consistent schedule, and ensure alignment with the mission.
5. Content and Brand Development
The Maisha Media Club, Word Wednesday, and Bible Memory Verses initiatives provide a ready-made foundation of engaging, inspiring content that aligns with our mission.
A clear branding strategy, including thumbnails, banners, and a cohesive visual identity, will ensure the channel is polished and professional.
6. Sustainability and Capacity Building
By hiring a dedicated team to work alongside Mr. Hatfield, we are building the capacity needed for long-term success.
Staff training and a focus on sustainability will ensure that the project thrives well beyond the initial setup.
Leveraging the Google Ad Grant effectively will help us grow our audience sustainably, expanding both our reach and impact.
7. Measure and Adapt
We will set measurable goals for audience growth, engagement, and content performance, using YouTube analytics and other tools to monitor progress.
Regular evaluation will allow us to adapt strategies based on what works best to reach and inspire our target audience.
By combining a strong mission, dedicated leadership, a committed team, access to powerful tools like the Google Ad Grant, and a strategic plan, we will create a successful YouTube channel that furthers Living Stone Global’s mission and inspires hope worldwide.
