Project Overview

Are you passionate about event planning and eager to make a real difference? We’re looking for a dedicated volunteer to help us plan the 10th anniversary celebration for Because One Matters—a milestone event that will highlight a decade of changing lives for children impacted by foster care.

This project will utilize the volunteer’s event planning and project management expertise to build a comprehensive event project plan with a budget, a timeline, and a general communications plan. The final deliverable should give us a concrete sense of what action needs to be taken when and who to involve in each step along the way.

Our work will take place over multiple meetings in six to nine weeks. In our first meeting, the volunteer should interview us about our existing progress and bring their creativity to provide ideas and general project management recommendations. Then, they’ll synthesize the information into a project plan. We’ll engage in various check-ins, where our planning team will provide feedback.

As a volunteer on this project, you will play a crucial role in the behind-the-scenes planning of the event, contributing their skills and creativity to make it a memorable occasion. To stay within the scope of this project, it will not include executing vendor outreach, creation of marketing materials, solicitation of donors, day of support, or post event outreach. However, the project plan should lay out an ideal timeline for these tasks to be completed. We want to ensure that we are well prepared for our event and that it is designed to create a memorable and impactful experience. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in the behind-the-scenes planning of this special event. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills and creativity to support a cause that truly matters.

By joining our team, you’ll not only gain valuable experience in event planning and project management, but you will also become part of a passionate community committed to empowering foster children. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of an event that celebrates our mission and the children we serve.

Sign up today and help us make this milestone event a success! We’ve made several key preparations to ensure a successful event. We’ve assembled a dedicated planning team, including key staff members and volunteers, who are committed to this project. We’ve outlined a draft event plan, including timelines, and key tasks, to guide our efforts and ensure nothing is overlooked.

We’ve also secured a venue and begun reaching out to potential sponsors and partners who align with our mission. Our team is working on developing promotional materials to build excitement and engage our community. Additionally, we’re organizing logistics, such as catering, entertainment, and volunteer roles, to ensure the event runs smoothly.

We’re excited about the opportunity to celebrate our achievements and continue making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
