We are building a Twilio-powered web phone system for our team members to communicate with the community we serve. This will allow our team to better serve the community by making phone calls easy and reliable. Specifically, we're using the Twilio Voice JavaScript SDK in a PHP environment.

We have a working prototype and need it expanded to allow for patching incoming calls through to different team members, knowing which team members have an active phone session with Twilio and are available for incoming calls and processing voicemails.

Right now, we struggle to make and receive phone calls with our community, many of whom do not have easy access to email. We have a toll-free number that we use regularly to text with our community, but we don't have easy ways to make and receive phone calls. If you're a Javascript developer and have experience with Twilio's Voice JavaScript SDK and want to make a big difference for a community powered nonprofit, this project will use your skills for good by connecting people and making transformative change.

We have a working prototype that can process incoming and outgoing calls for one person at a time using Twilio Voice JavaScript SDK in a PHP environment. All our code is on Github in a private repository we can grant access to for volunteers. The project will be implemented immediately as it is developed and refined.
