Project Overview

Applied Epi trains public health workers worldwide, and needs assistance creating a sustainable business plan. The org has grown rapidly in 3 years and has solid financial footing (most revenue is from fee-for-service program activity), though our core team lacks business expertise. We require expert input on financial and business strategy before launching major scholarship and discount campaigns for low-resource audiences in 2025.

Ideally, the expert volunteer works with our organizational leadership to elevate our business development strategy and create a business plan document that addresses:
A) Strategies to diversify funding streams and ensure funds for the organization's activities
B) Appropriate allocation of our funds to various program components as the organization matures
C) How to budget and pay for allocation of scholarships and discounts to our target audience
D) Revised pricing of our services, including discounts and global differentiation by ability-to-pay
E) Other topics as advised by the expertApplied Epi is a rapidly-growing org that serves a critical purpose - equipping responders to public health emergencies with modern tools and skills. After 3 years of expansion, the org seeks expert advice to create a sustainable business plan with special attention to reaching low-resource audiences globally through discounts and scholarships. We are a committed and dynamic crew, ready to work with you. This project will ensure a structured approach to our growth in the coming years. We aim to launch a major scholarships and discounts campaign in 2025 for our target audience (epidemiologists working in low-resource settings), but are hesitant to do this without expert input.

Our Board and core team have already drafted components of a 5-year strategic plan, scholarship allocation plan, compensation plan, and annual budgets (via Quickbooks) among other documents. We hope that an external expert can ensure that we have proper and best-practice business orientation moving forward.
