We're seeking a website expert to give us feedback on our current WordPress website’s layout, user-friendliness, mobile readiness, content, and general look and feel. We'll ask you to present our team of two volunteers with your recommendations for improvements to help us maximize our site to support our goals. We're currently hosted by Blue Host.

We'll start with a briefing session where our team will share our goals and tell you about our target audience and what we hope to achieve through our website. We'll collaborate to define our next steps and set a timeline. Next time we meet, you'll provide us with some of your initial insights and high-level feedback. We'll have additional feedback for you as well. When your analysis is complete, you'll deliver a short presentation to our team with your recommendations and give us a document of your recommended tactics and updates.

Our ideal volunteer can spend fifteen to twenty hours over four to five weeks reviewing our website. They have experience in web design and marketing.

This project will NOT include:
-Website design
-Website development/coding
-Development of a content marketing strategy

Our prototype site HandicappedVets.org is our business card. When it is complete it will also house HIPPA compliant forums at which point we'll need to move to a compliant host.
Those forums will be accessible from our HVA Social websites.
... see 'find my clinic' on a large screen on In.HVASocial.org, which is our Social/Advocacy prototype. It's free to join for public review.

To prepare for the project, we can provide you with detail about our target audiences and our organization's goals, and how we measure success. We will provide access to the back-end of our website and Google Analytics. We also have a dedicated member of our team who will be responsible for supporting you throughout the project.

Handicapped Veterans Association (HVA) is a unique Veterans Service Organization and Third Party Survey Provider.* Our mission is to: Build Community - Address Veteran Suicide - Help Solve Healthcare Problems. Our Stakeholders are: -US Military Veterans rated 30% or more disabled by the Veterans Administration that are followed in VA Clinics -Affiliated Veteran Service Organizations -Individual VA Clinics. Affiliated VSOs and VA Clinics share in management of the project through a seat on the Board of Directors. Our Third Party Survey mechanism and delivery system is a HIPPA compliant, member based social/advocacy website. A separate site is planned for each State and US Territory as the project matures. Building Community Members Visit, chat and private message on the social timeline Meet at local and regional events sponsored by Affiliated VSOs. Addressing Veteran Suicide "Social networking sites for suicide prevention can facilitate social community among peers with similar experiences." Luxton DD, June JD, Fairall JM. Social media and Suicide Solving Healthcare Problems HVA identifies problems through web based polls and forums Members: Vote in their VA Clinic’s ‘How Was Your Day at the VA?’ poll Give an ‘atta-boy to a VA employee, or Clinic Discuss health care problems with others from the same clinic. Request advocacy under the Member Initiated Reporting Process (MIRP) The MIRP process is managed by elected representatives from each Stakeholder type, and begins with a courtesy call between a HVA Member Rep and the Clinic’s Patient Rep. In all, HVA offers its Stakeholders a new and exciting place for Members to meet and interact privately, and a vital management resource to assist the VA in solving healthcare problems and Veteran suicide. * Organizations that are independent from the project they are evaluating. This allows them to conduct their evaluation without bias or influence from the design team, owners or managers. ** Details @ HandicappedVets.org
