Financial Statement Development
Daughter's Journey to Freedom Ministries is in need of an accounting professional to assist with creating our financial statements. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of nonprofit accounting experience, with a minimum of 10 years of overall accounting experience (nonprofit inclusive), CPA is preferred but not required. Prepared statements will then be used for forecasting and budgeting as well as rollover for the upcoming fiscal year. The project also requires that the volunteer have at least 5 years of experience with QuickBooks, Excel, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
Through working with the organization on this project, volunteers will support our goal of increasing financial transparency for existing and prospective donors. Our annual program includes 2 community baby showers for underserved minority moms in partnership with Harris County Public Health, local hospitals, and pregnancy centers. For the community baby showers, we provide much-needed supplies such as diapers, car seats, diaper bags, formula, nursing/lactation supplies, baby clothing, and postpartum supplies. Additionally, we plan to hold at least 1 wellness event including presentations on reproductive health, financial wellness, mental health support, and maternal wellness. We need financial information on file to support funding requests and cover all of these outreach efforts throughout the year.
Our team will digitize all existing financial records including bank statements, receipts, invoices, and other appending files. Upon engagement, we will also grant access to our current financial tool.
