We’re seeking a skilled volunteer with nonprofit compliance expertise to help us create a comprehensive compliance and governance checklist tailored to our 501(c)(3) organization. This will include guidance on annual meeting requirements, quarterly governance tasks, IRS/state filings, conflict of interest documentation, and nonprofit best practices.

The final deliverables will include:

- A clearly outlined checklist or roadmap for ongoing nonprofit compliance

- Templates or tools (e.g., spreadsheet or Airtable) for tracking key deadlines

- A walk-through or review call to ensure knowledge transfer and implementation guidance

This project is ideal for a nonprofit-savvy attorney, compliance consultant, or nonprofit board professional. Your insights will help us build the backbone of long-term organizational sustainability and audit readiness.

Pay Your Tuition Foundation (PYT) exists to expand access to higher education, credit-building opportunities, and career mobility for underserved students and families. As we scale nationally and deepen our partnerships with banks, HBCUs, and impact investors, it’s essential that our governance and compliance infrastructure is bulletproof.

This project ensures that we remain accountable, audit-ready, and aligned with nonprofit best practices—giving our funders, partners, and students confidence in our operations.

Your contribution will help us protect the integrity of our mission, scale responsibly, and continue delivering game-changing solutions like our Student Loanership™ and AI-powered education funding tools to the communities who need them most.

By helping us create a solid compliance framework, you’re playing a key role in making higher education more equitable and accessible nationwide.

We’re fully prepared to make this a smooth and impactful collaboration. Our leadership team has aligned on the importance of this compliance infrastructure, and we've already compiled internal documentation (e.g., bylaws, board meeting notes, and state filings) to support your review.

We have a designated point of contact on our team who will be available for regular check-ins and document sharing. We’re committed to responding quickly, integrating feedback, and making this a two-way, respectful, and efficient engagement.

In fact, we've previously completed Taproot projects around brand messaging and Salesforce implementation—so we understand what it takes to be a great pro bono partner. Your work will be directly implemented into our internal systems and shared with our board for adoption and ongoing use.

At PYTF, we are dedicated to empowering underserved communities through innovative financial solutions. We strive to make higher education accessible and sustainable, recognizing the significant funding gaps that hinder many low to moderate-income undergraduate students from starting, staying in, and completing their degrees. Research indicates that financial obstacles account for 50% of the reasons why low-income students fail to complete their degrees. Our vision is to reshape the socioeconomic landscape by ensuring equitable access to education. Through our Student Loanership product offering—a unique blend of loan and scholarship—we connect families and banks to groundbreaking financing solutions. By harnessing technology and data, we bridge the higher education funding gap. Our program not only revolutionizes the scholarship industry but also places a strong emphasis on student advocacy, championing the financial interests, needs, and overall well-being of students. Join us in collaborating with students like you to forge a future where educational equity is universal, and every scholar has the resources to thrive, alongside student-driven initiatives.
