We’re seeking a skilled volunteer to conduct a comprehensive audit of SAWs’ current website. This includes providing feedback on the site’s layout, accessibility, user experience, mobile responsiveness, content clarity, and overall visual presentation. Our goal is to better engage visitors, clearly communicate our mission, and improve ease of use for clients, volunteers, and donors. We currently host our website on WordPress.

We’ll begin with a briefing session where we’ll share our organizational goals, discuss our key audiences—including clients in need of ramps, prospective volunteers, and donors—and outline what we hope to achieve through the website. Together, we’ll define priorities and set a clear timeline.

In follow-up meetings, we’d love to hear your early observations and high-level suggestions. We’ll also share our team’s feedback and questions along the way. When your review is complete, we’d appreciate a brief presentation of your findings along with a document outlining your actionable recommendations.

Our ideal volunteer will dedicate approximately 15–20 hours over the course of 4–5 weeks and bring experience in website usability, accessibility, and digital communications.

This project will NOT include:

Website design or redesign

Website development or coding

Content marketing strategy creation

We’re excited to learn from your expertise and improve how SAWs serves and connects with the community through our digital presence

This project will play a vital role in helping SAWs further our mission of providing freedom, independence, and dignity to individuals with mobility challenges through the construction of wheelchair ramps. Our website is a critical tool for reaching the people we serve, recruiting volunteers, and inspiring donors—but we know it can do more.

By helping us audit and improve our website, you’ll ensure that those who need a ramp can easily find us and access our services, that volunteers can quickly understand how to get involved, and that donors feel confident supporting our work. Your expertise will directly support our ability to grow our impact, serve more clients, and engage more community members in our mission.

This project isn’t just about improving a website—it’s about removing barriers for real people. Your time and talents will help make our message clearer, our outreach stronger, and our services more accessible to the people who need them most.

To ensure this project is set up for success, we’ve taken steps to prepare and align our team. We’re ready to provide a clear overview of SAWs’ mission, target audiences—including clients, volunteers, and donors—and the role our website plays in advancing our work. We will also share our current strategic plan and organizational goals to give you full context for your recommendations.

We will share relevant insights from our website analytics and any other materials you need to understand how users currently engage with our site.

A dedicated team member will serve as your primary contact throughout the project, ensuring consistent communication, timely responses, and access to all necessary information. We value your time and expertise, and we’re committed to using your recommendations to inform meaningful improvements to our website.

We’re excited to partner with you and look forward to learning from your insights.
