We're looking for a volunteer to help us save time and be more strategic with our social media presence. Specifically, you'll create a template for a one-month social posting calendar that we can leverage to make managing our multiple social media channels easy (we currently have two Instagram accounts, one Facebook, and one LinkedIn). You'll draft posts and copy for 15-20 posts and make recommendations to customize our content to optimize it for different platforms. We will seek your input on using tools to automate our social media postings. The final deliverable will be the calendar template you create filled with 15-20 different posts.

You're a great fit for us if you're passionate about our mission, have a background in managing professional social media accounts, and can spend approximately 10 hours over one to three weeks on this project. You are also a good fit if you have expertise in how to leverage social and get more followers.
Strong Girls United (SGU) is a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls through sport, mentorship, and mental skills development—helping them build confidence, connection, and resilience both on and off the field. We serve girls from elementary school through young adulthood through national mentorship programs, school-based initiatives, community events, and our local Strong Girls United Hub in York, Maine.

Social media is one of our most powerful tools for reaching girls, families, coaches, mentors, and partners—but as a small team supported by interns and part-time staff, we currently spend more time reacting than strategically storytelling. This project directly supports our mission by helping us communicate our impact more consistently, clearly, and effectively—without overwhelming our limited capacity.

This project will create a repeatable, easy-to-use social media system that allows us to:
- Share empowering messages and mental skills education with girls nationwide through our main SGU account
- Highlight local programs, events, and community access at our SGU Hub account
- Strengthen awareness of mentorship, mental health, and access to sport
- Increase engagement from families, donors, partners, and future mentors
- Free up staff time to focus on programming and direct community impact

By developing a one-to two -month social media calendar template filled with 15–20 ready-to-use posts, this volunteer will help transform how we show up online. Instead of starting from scratch each week, our small team and interns will be able to plug in upcoming events, rotate key themes, and confidently tailor content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn using a clear framework and guidance.
To prepare for the project, we will provide you with our events calendar and other relevant social media handles of organizations that are pillars in our sector. You'll have access to a file of photos and logos and a list of our hashtags.
