15 Resources for Nonprofits Led By or Serving BIPOC Communities

Taproot Foundation and Disney have partnered to provide nonprofits led by and serving people of color with practical advice on how to build, enhance, and expand their work.

We compiled a list of valuable articles, tools, trainings, research, funding opportunities, networking groups, and more specifically for nonprofits serving under-resourced communities. Note: Taproot and Disney do not endorse these organizations.

Borealis Philanthropy

Borealis Philanthropy builds bridges between funders and organizers to support grassroots movements working to make a future that serves all of us, especially those most impacted by injustice.

First Nations Development Institute

Founded in 1980, First Nations invests in organizations to strengthen American Indian economies and support Native communities. They fulfill their mission with trainings, advocacy and policy, and grants.

Funding for Racial Equity

Candid created this resource page for those working for racial equity to stay updated on the latest information in the field. The page includes continuously updated data, news, blogs, research, and more to keep you informed.

Hispanic Federation

The nation’s leading Hispanic nonprofit membership organization, Hispanic Federation (HF), is committed to uplifting Hispanic communities and strengthening Latino nonprofits. They work on a local and national level to support Latino organizations, advance advocacy for public policy, and more.

The Libra Foundation

The Libra Foundation funds organizations led by those most impacted by systemic oppression, mainly low-income communities of color. They focus on organizations fighting for racial, gender, and environmental justice and transforming the criminal justice system.
