🐾 Build Our Foster Program

Legacy Paws Rescue is looking for a foster program consultant to design a foster program with our Executive Director, then hand it off with everything in place.

We're building a different kind of rescue, focused on prevention, education, and supporting both ends of the leash. We take in dogs facing euthanasia because they were misunderstood, and we don't use kennels. Right now every dog heals on our five acres, which limits how many we can help. You'd be building the system that lets more dogs decompress in real homes.

1. Application and screening process. A simple application, home check guide, and criteria for matching fosters with dogs.
2. Foster handbook. What fosters need to know before a dog arrives: decompression, house rules, vet procedures, and how we support them on hard days.
3. Foster tracking system. One place to see which dogs are where, check-ins, medical needs, and behavior updates.
4. Recruitment plan. Where to find the right foster homes and what to say to them.

What "done" looks like
All four pieces built, handed off, and walked through with our team. Simple enough for a volunteer to run without a training manual. Our team will use these tools to recruit and approve our first foster homes.

Timeline: 8 to 10 weeks

Who we're looking for
Someone with foster coordination or rescue experience who knows fostering a dog with a hard past isn't always pretty. Behavior or reactive dog experience is a plus.
